Abstract WIP

I decided to start another abstract but this time am documenting various phases as I progress.

This is a new technique for me and is considered part of the experimentation technique of abstract painting. Some would call it outsider art however the definition of outsider art would be naive art which in its beginnings would stem from patients in mental institutions. And seeing as I am not living in an insane assylum no matter how insane my life feels! LOL At any rate, I am enjoying this experimentation!

I started with a somewhat textured fresco, and added light layers of cadmium yellow medium, raw sienna, burnt umber, titanium white, and then washed in french ultramarine and indian red mixed with a russet metalic pigment. Then finishing this layer off with a couple swipes of an earthy black and pure french ultramarine.
